Company Profile:
Biomarine Inc., a division of Neutronics, Inc., is the market leader in the development and production of reliable and easy-to-maintain positive-pressure, closed-circuit, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The company has a proven history of building the world’s most reliable long duration SCBAs, designed to protect personnel in hazardous, toxic, or oxygen-deficient environments. Biomarine Rebreathers are used extensively by mine and tunnel rescue teams, first responders, and HazMat remediation crews, law enforcement and military personnel, fire service, and homeland defense and security management.

Corporate Mission Statement:
Biomarine’s goal is to help protect the men and women who put their lives on the line in dangerous and demanding conditions. The company is committed to building the easiest to use, most reliable, and most affordable, long duration SCBAs in the world. Whether it’s a search and rescue, an industrial accident, or an incident involving military or homeland security, Biomarine is dedicated to helping those who serve and protect to do a better, safer job.

Company History:
Biomarine was founded in 1969 by a group of aerospace life support engineers who had been providing advanced engineering for long duration life support in manned missions to the moon. Biomarine’s first product, the CCR-1000, successfully provided underwater life support at depths up to 1000 feet. The company’s new technology was rapidly adapted and used by the US military’s special warfare teams.

In the 1980 Biomarine was able to apply the knowledge and experience gained from working underwater to pioneer applications for use in hostile environments on land. Biomarine successfully developed the first positive-pressure, closed-circuit SCBA for use by firefighters and rescue personnel in operations encumbered by toxic or oxygen-deficient atmospheres.

In addition to providing sophisticated mixed gas deep diving apparatus for the US military and US allies, Biomarine continued to expand its SCBA technology in the 1980s and ‘90s to other civilian markets including mining, tunneling, and HazMat applications.

By the mid 2000s, Biomarine SCBAs were deployed worldwide, and Biomarine had developed additional government/military applications, including WMD Domestic Preparedness, USMC CBIRF, US Dept of Energy Facility & Munitions Protection Response Force, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and USCG Strike Force & Anthrax Cleanup.

In 2006, Biomarine made a significant breakthrough in the SCBA market with its all-new state-of-the-art BioPak 240 Revolution 4-Hour Rebreather. This long duration rebreather represents the most significant advancement in closed-circuit, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) technology in over a decade.
